- I got up the nerve to ask the people at the cafe if I can use their place as a location for my film. She said yes, though I'm fairly certain she doesn't really know what I'm asking for. Fortunately she took some notes and then said she'd talk to her husband. Which I think is a very good idea. And then hopefully I'll be able to come talk to her husband as well and it will all work out.
- I wrote my scene for the directing class, but then tonight he didn't take them. Still it's done and that's good. And we're all going to exchange what we wrote now that we have an extra week so we can get a little feedback and tweak them before turning them in.
- We also had a really good directing class tonight where we practiced auditioning people. Perfect timing before our auditions on Thursday.
- Oh my casting notice went out yesterday morning and I got a bunch of responses so I'm hopeful that's all going to work out. I've got 6 speaking parts so that's a lot of people I need to find.
- We have to have the first crack at our production book for Sam tomorrow morning so I did a bunch of work on that. I now have a shooting copy of the script (Take Out) and I marked it up with my color coded highlighters for locations, cast, props, extras, etc. Then I did the breakdown sheets, which means 1 sheet for each scene and all the things we'll need for that scene. Plus I started my crew list and cast list and schedule and budget. The Production Book is all the logistical and organization stuff. I've always been kind of good at that, but I also like learning how things get organized in the real world.
- And I finally settled on a photo and wrote my 2 page script for Thesis Prep. I didn't think that one was going to be so hard. It was a challenge idea that I had thought of in the first place. But especially when she said we had to do a 2 page scene for it rather than a treatment for a story it got much harder. I was really struggling with it until this afternoon. And then I was in the shower and it came to me. Mom was like, that was a fast shower. But I had an idea I had to get out and write it down.
- Oh, yeah, had dinner, breakfast and lunch with Mom and Dad. They're in Harwich for a couple of days. So yesterday afternoon I went down to have dinner with them. Then I worked for a while in the evening. Let Dad make me breakfast. Worked for a while in the morning. Ate my leftovers for lunch, and then drove home. I was so buzzing with energy and getting stuff done that I asked them if they found me exhausting to be around. They said no. You know, they're parents, they like seeing me happy.
- And on top of all that school stuff I managed to get a set of revisions done for a client project. Well, it's encoding now and I still have to upload it, but done enough to count for the moment.
So, here's the photo, and here's the script.
With many thanks to Linda for allowing me to be inspired by her grandparents. The story is entirely fictitious, only the names haven't been changed. |
While I can guarantee this isn't the real story behind the photo or how my Grandfather proposed, I can be sure that Charles and Mildred Hughes would get a real kick out of this story. And the world would be a better place if only more people could be happily married for 60+ years.
ReplyDeleteI love the story. Is this the same project where you took the snowman photos?
