Fall Break

We have a long weekend for fall break so I promised myself I would have one day where I did no work - no grading, no writing, no editing, no freelance. I have lived in Wisconsin for more than a year and have not really left Milwaukee. So yesterday I went for a leaf peak drive.

The place is called Holy Hill because it's the tallest area around. Wisconsin is more rolling than Illinois, but there seems to be nothing like the Berkshires.

I parked at the bottom of the hill and Louis and I walked to the top. Even though it was a Friday there were plenty of people around.

At the top there is a nice church. On the right you can climb the stairs to get a good view, but I had the dog so I didn't go inside.

I bet the stained glass was really nice from the inside though.
