Official start of the season

The start of the season not because it's a holiday weekend, but because I finally got my boat in the water.

I want that little house some day when I'm very wealthy.

I put in at the wooden bridge at the end of North Road just before the end of low tide so I had tide and current (and wind as it turns out) pushing me down stream. That made it very easy to float along and take a lot of pictures. Then when I got to Route 28 I turned around and came back. By that time the tide was coming in helping a little bit to over come the current and the wind, but there was no floating. I had to put the camera away because if I stopped paddling for too long I started going the wrong way. That was more of a workout than I'd intended, but it was nice.

I think the kayak will live on the car now unless I'm actually going off cape for something. That way there's no excuse not to paddle every nice day.

I ended up seeing 2 different pairs of swans.

Osprey

Osprey flying. Not very sharp, but I'll take it.

Gulls flying

Even more than the birds, I wish I had video of this. There were hundreds of crabs all along the low tide mud flats scurrying in and out of their little holes.

A bird. Maybe a piper?

It's tough to get them sharp when they're flying.

I saw quite a few though.
