Our Screening

Yay!!! We had our screening last night.

I feel like it went very well. It wasn't a sold out audience, but the room was mostly full and the people were very engaged both during the screening and after during the Q&A. I didn't quite get the out loud "Awww" that I got in Providence when Blue appeared, but I could still tell that the surprise got them. Everyone thought Joe was the killer.

The film screened in a set called "It's Complicated" in which almost every film had a murder, or at least referenced violence in some way. It made the Q&A a bit skewed. My film wasn't about violence, or about the murder really and neither were some of the others. By putting them all together the programmer was making her own artistic impact/commentary. That's fine except that it tilted the discussion after more toward violence in our films and in society much more than it would have been otherwise. Still, it was a real discussion that we had which is so much more than most Q&As so I don't even mind because it was interesting. And really, yes please, I'd love to talk about my film.
