It's called a Ronin and it's a gimbal stabilizer. I think it probably works better with two people, because it comes with a remote so that you can force what direction it looks.
First try
It had a setting on the remote that was forcing it to really lock what direction it was looking. And I was alone so no one was controlling the remote. I also have no idea what I was focused on. I set it at f22 to give me flexibility, but never started with focusing on anything. At the end when it pans and tilts I was holding still and using one hand on the remote joy stick.
Second Try
I made some changes to the remote and managed to get it to turn with me. Though it requires a gentle turn. And the walking will look better if I were walking with someone, like an actor.
Third Try
The problem with the dog being my only model is that I haven't trained him well enough.
Pretty promising considering I only read half the manual and just messed around for an hour. By the end of the summer I bet I can be doing some pretty cool moves.
And no comments on the yard please. I have guys who mow every other week. And it's a billion degrees out this weekend, so I'm not doing it in between them. That defeats the point of them.
