The stuff to do is endless

I've been crossing things off the earlier to do list, but then I keep adding things to it as well. It has been helpful to me for not forgetting stuff so I'm gong to do a new and improved list here.

  • Health Insurance
    • When the office calls I need to pick up the forms and fax them to school. I will have missed the deadline because I didn't know it takes 10-14 business days. But it can't be helped now without a TARDIS to go back and make my doctor's appointment earlier in the month.
    • She wants me to do another bit of blood work before I go for updated cholesterol numbers. I'm not looking forward to that as when I got on the scale today I was back at my maximum weight. (Don't start with me. I know.)
    • Cancel Kaiser after getting the health ins card from school. September?
  • House/Car/Appt insurance
    • Find a new company that can do all three. The key is they have to be active in both states.
    • After the new one is lined up write to John (must be in writing) to cancel the old policies.
    • Due in August, but John said wait till I get up there.
  • Bank stuff
    • Close the MM account and get it into BofA
    • Consolidate all my IRAs into one policy (with none of the current providers)
  • Figure out what you need to get a resident parking permit in Boston and if you can do it before arriving. And if not how do we make sure the car and truck don't get tickets on the first day?
    • Ok, so first I have to go to motor vehicles to register the car in MA
    • Then I can go to city hall and fill out a form
    • I wonder if I can get all that done in 1 day on Monday?
  • House stuff
    • Have everything getting donated out on the driveway before 7am Wednesday. (I found one who will take everything. Not just the clothes and small household items they all seem to take, but the TVs, tables, shelves, desk, working electronics (even the VHS player), sporting goods (skis, boots, racketball rackets, tennis racket, cricket bat (sorry Jen). Everything. I hope I'm first on their route and the truck is empty.
    • Double check the basement is cleared out
    • Move everything into storage on Saturday
    • Move all Boston stuff into either the office or the guest room. All other rooms must be empty by Saturday night.
    • Darryl moves in on Sunday.
  • All the house prep stuff that the lease says I've done before Darryl moves in
    • Smoke detectors batteries
    • thorough clean
    • replace furnace filters
      • none of the filters at home depot look like the filter in my basement. I'm not sure what to do about this one.
    • trim back all the trees
    • go to bank and open the security deposit account
    • hang blinds in bedroom
      • missing some hardware. They are shipping them FedEx 2 day. Procrastination is not my friend.
  • Take care of the dog
    • get her licensed in Boston
  • Address Change
    • Post office
    • Capital One
    • Chase (car, mortgage, credit card)
    • AT&T
    • Bank of America
    • US Bank (credit card)
    • Wells, MM, TIAA/CREF
  • Utilities off/on
    • Pepco
    • Comcast
    • WSSC
    • Washington Gas
  • Return stuff
    • Farscape disks to Nancy
    • film camera to Jen
  • Sort gear
    • Needed in Boston for potential Smithsonian shoots (either driven or flown to)
      • Camera with batteries and charger and P2 cards
      • shotgun mic with camera mount
      • Mic stand
      • Sound box
      • 1 rifa light
      • reflector
      • Tripod
    • Can stay at Mary's for potential Kennedy Center shoots that I fly in for
      • Green screen with C-stands and accessories
      • field monitor
      • 1 rifa
      • light kit
      • steadicam rig, including monopod
      • the misc box with most of what's in it
      • the bag with cables and  power

You know, the yard sale went well, but still when I look at the list I made of what I'm donating it boggles my mind.

  1. Even though I have crossed some things off I'm still thinking of things to add. And I'm sure I'm still forgetting some of the change address/change or cancel service lists.
