Moonrise

I needed to get out of the house, and the full moon was rising just at sunset, so I went to the beach. (If you want to see more house photos, I've added some to the previous post.)

It's that beach on 28 just at the Chatham/Harwich town line, just where you think Harwich shouldn't be. It was not really the best choice. See how the land rises to the right? Oops.

The house - during

Well, there were 3 guys from about 8 to 4 working on removing wallpaper and at 4 they hadn't quite finished the living room. 3 more guys showed up then. The living room is now stripped, the hallway is half done, and the bedroom isn't started. I suspect they thought they could do all the wallpaper in one day. If I had known they wouldn't get to it I would not have stripped the bed. Oh well. I will just live in the office for the weekend.

The house - Before

The guys are about to come. I've prepped the house as well as I can by myself. I'll be excited to show you the after pictures. Goodness we had more stuff than I was expecting. Oldest magazine award goes to the 1973 edition of Cape Cod Compass. I kept that one. But in spite of what you see in the two "storage" rooms, I purged an awful lot. It's very freeing.

The place looks so much bigger without all the extra furniture.

County Grounds arty shots

Here's some more stuff from our wander about the county grounds. These were more for me than for location scouting.

The first day I went I missed the right spot for the woods entirely. But the open fields had some nice flowers blooming so that's ok.

Location Scouting County Grounds

Our first Imagine MKE project is going to be about the County Grounds so we wandered through the woods looking for the things that make the area cool and visual.

Here are my best guesses on where all the pictures were taken. Along with a note about parking and where to pick up the path into the woods.

Floating down the Herring River

I was feeling in a bit of a funk over all the rejections that I've gotten for Enid's Wall lately. So I gave myself the afternoon off and floated down the river. I got some video of the bigger and smaller kinds of egrets. I also saw 2 adult great blue herons. And I saw one that looked like it should be a great blue, but was about half the size. Maybe a juvenile? The photo is too blurry to tell really, though I put it in at the end of the video.

Don't adjust your speakers, there is no sound.
