You can skip this one if you want, but Louis was making me particularly happy today.
Which is to say, go back far enough and my posts are about being a film student. And now I'm a film teacher.

The color of the sky
January 10, 2004 I did a little experiment: a picture of the sky once an hour all day. All the night shots I've been doing lately reminded me of it.

Yarmouth Nature Trails
I managed three job applications today.* And while some were in locations that could be cool to live, they would all take me away from Cape Cod. So I did what I prefer to do when that "I don't want to leave" mood strikes. I grabbed the dog and the camera and I went for a walk. And it was perfect fall weather. We went to the nature trails maintained by the Yarmouth Historical Society. It's the one that starts behind the Yarmouth post office on 6A. I'm sure I've been there before, but not recently enough to have remembered it.
Happy Louis having a late afternoon run. |

North Road in the Conservation Lands
I took Louis for a walk this afternoon to see if there were any good autumn shots to get. And then tonight I went back to the North Road bridge over the Herring River to try some long exposure night shots. At one point a bird flew by. I couldn't see it, I could only hear it. That was a bit... disconcerting. Then just as I was carrying the tripod back to the car another car pulled up. That was even more disconcerting, though nothing happened. They parked, 2 people got out of the car, they stood on the bridge talking while I packed up and left.

Boats at night
Getting those extra shots after the moon set the other week, and then the eclipse have put me in the mood for long exposure experiments. I really like the colors.
